Earlier today, we published a story about creators’ growing role in the 2024 election. President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign is hiring a director of digital partnerships to work with creators to amplify his message and reach key voting blocs, including working with local nanoinfluencers. Staffers have discussed having a creator representative in every U.S. state.
As we note in the story, not all creators are comfortable throwing their support behind a specific candidate. Some, such as long-time YouTubers Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal, are focused on promoting non-partisan efforts to get out the vote. In 2020, the duo partnered with Vote.org on their “Vote Like A Beast” initiative. Other creators use social media to advocate for political issues or causes instead of a candidate.
