Snap will report its first quarter results later today. As my colleague Kaya Yurieff laid out in her latest Creator Economy newsletter, Snap’s ads strength and the performance of its TikTok clone are the big questions looming over today’s financials, but do also pay close attention to any new AR stats CEO Evan Spiegel touts. They may give an idea of what Snap has in store for its annual Partner Summit next week, where we may receive the next big update on the AR Spectacles developer program.
It’s a safe bet that Snap will expand or iterate on the Spectacles program in some way while keeping quiet about consumer plans. As for Snap’s mobile AR ecosystem, there are three major topics the company will likely give updates on in earnings today while teeing up for bigger summit news:
