The Top 100 Articles from The Information’s First 10 Years

Ten years ago, on December 4, 2013, The Information hit the ground sprinting—and it hasn’t slowed down since. Day 1 saw the publication of a pair of instantly buzzy stories. The first, by founder and CEO Jessica Lessin, was titled “How Apple Gives Some Apps an Edge.” The second, co-bylined by Jessica and now–executive editor Amir Efrati, was headlined “Google’s Andy Rubin Pursues ‘Replicant’ Robots.”

Both stories offered a hint of what was to come: The Information would go on to break major news again and again and again about these two giants of the industry. (It would also break the news about the inappropriate relationship that led to Rubin’s departure from Google.) In fact, if you wanted to track the ups and downs of Silicon Valley’s most important companies and players over the past decade, you could do worse than scanning the most popular stories from The Information’s archives.

Here are the 100 articles that drove the most new subscriptions—and sparked the Valley’s most important conversations—over the past 10 years.
